I'm back!

I wasn't able to log into Typepad for well over a week!  Turns out after nine emails to TypePad, we resolved the problem by deleting the cookies on my laptop.  Who knew!?

Anyway, as promised, here's the picture of the dress.  FINALLY, I was able to get one of the boys to take a pic of me in it!

I suppose I could have taken a pic of myself, but it just wouldn't have done my little dress the justice it deserves. I love it! I'm also working on the Two Tone Ribbed Shrug by Stefanie Japel. The pattern is from Fitted Knits. I used to think there was nothing in that book for me, so I never bought it. However, after seeing Aimee's little shrug I was convinced I needed one too!
What a fun and quick project! Cascade 220 really is one of the most versatile yarns out there. :) It will be done by this weekend I hope. I have today off to knit and then two afternoons because I'm working the early shift tomorrow and Friday. More later. I gotta go get my hair trimmed. Wish me luck!

Finished Object! Saturday Bag!

One that I forgot to mention, but not forgettable!  I love this bag!  Ella Rae Casbah is the yarn.  Two skeins of blue, three skeins of orange, and four skeins of burgundy.  Pattern is from the Jo Sharp Saturday Book.  I've been loving this pattern (but not knowing how to crochet...) since I saw it in Charleston at the Knit shop on Wentworth about a year and a half ago...  Now that I learned to crochet from Sandy at Charlotte Yarn, I made SURE that this bag is my FIRST finished object in crochet.  Single crochet, all the way.

Love this yarn so much I got TWELVE skeins of it from a lady on Ravelry!  Cotton, cotton, cotton.  I might make they Eyelet Cardi out of this yarn.  Not sure yet.  Gotta see how it gauges, first.  Come to think of it, I probably should have done a gauge swatch for this pattern, too.   The strap came out WAAAAAY longer than I anticipated, but Aimee helped me come up with a fix for it.  I ran the strap along the bottom on the interior of the bag to shorten the strap, and to also reinforce the bottom.  :)  That girl is a smartie, for REAL.

Hourglass problems taught me to always swatch!  (It turned out to knit up WAY too big....)  More later.

new car!

I got a new car! Yay! It only took me three day to get it on the blog.... Pictures later. I'm on the iphone at work!

Livin' the dream!

I've said for the last two weeks that all I want to do is take a fist-full of cheesecake and slam it into my mouth all at once.  (Guess weight watchers will do that to you if you're doing it right...  haha!)  

Well, little Miss got to do JUST THAT on her first-ever birthday!  :)  Happy Birthday, little A!  Here's to many more!

The de-stash event

Well, I tried! I took a whole shopping bag of yarn that's been sitting in my stash for years and I took it to Charlotte Yarn's annual yarn swap & anniversary sale. My wimpy little stash didn't hold a candle to the massive piles of yarn some of you have out there! So instead of destashing, I did what I do best: STOCK UP! I came back with twice as much as I left the house with this morning?? Whoops.

Euroflax, Wool Cotton, and Koigu--oh my!

What you see here in the bag is what I came back with, and the stuff I took to the swap?  Well, it's still in the car!  Couldn't bring all of it up at once or there might be some questioning....

Love everything I got today! Love, love, love! Now I can't wait to get this cast off (for good) and actually KNIT! Don't get me wrong, I love crochet. But I miss my knitting!
