Lots of stuff has happened in the past two weeks since my last post. Work, trip to mom & dad's, four days at home, a doctor's visit and more work. Stay-cation is a great way to spend vacation. I hope to be able to do this again soon. :)
While visiting mom, I dragged out her BRAND NEW sewing machine that she got TWO YEARS ago and made a frenchy bag!
I cut the fabric on Saturday night and sewed it up on Sunday. What a great pattern! Love it! The fabric is Joel Dewberry's new line, which I picked up at Textile Fabrics while I was in town visiting los parientes. I think it's my new favorite knitting bag! I'll definitely be making more of these.
My trip to the doctor landed me in a soft cast for two weeks in hopes of clearing up my damn tendonitis. Wow, does tendonitis hurt! I've been battling it for about four months or so... maybe longer? After I couldn't stand it anymore, I went BACK to the doctor and she sent me to a specialist. I ended up with a two-inch needle of FIRE stuck in my tendon and then with a torturous Mad-Max looking soft cast. Hope the pain is worth it.
So, there's not much knitting going on these days, but luckily, crochet does not bother my tendonitis. Hooray! I've been working more on the big-ol-granny-square blankie. Thanks Mom, for the extra yarn. :) It's going to be so snuggly when it's done.
So glad I chose such expensive & yummy yarn for a "practice" project! hah!
More projects on the horizon: Babette, the Jo Sharp Saturday Bag, and the new Interweave Crochet has a cute little washcloth pattern I'm making out of Katia linen. Oh yeah, I'm gonna frog the Hourglass Sweater and start over in the next smallest size. Gonna be too big, since I lost 15 lbs.!!!
Luv those style bags!
And you really have taken off with your crocheting!
You will have to show me how to do my Grannie Square Lapghan too!

Girl, that bag it so cute! (your sewing skills still make me so jealous!)
So, sorry to hear about the tendonitis- I can't fathom a needle in the tendon!! ouch. But at least you can still crochet. Your granny is looking great and I am sure it will be the go to blanket when you need some extra cuddling.
What a fantastic reason to have to frog a sweater. Congratulations on the weight loss!
